HOW IT HAPPENED
-Trailing 7-4 with 4:36 left in the period, the Tigers went on a 16-4 run to secure a 20-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, a lead that the team would not relinquish.

-Sewanee was able to get the lead to double digits with a Lakeisha Phillips jumper to lead 35-25 at the break.

-In the third, the Tigers began to pull away with a 10-5 period despite neither team scoring for almost the final five minutes of the period with the exception of a Millsaps free throw.

NOTES AND NUGGETS
-With the win on Friday, the Tigers earned a victory on their home floor versus the Majors for the first time since 2007, snapping a 10-game losing skid on the Domain. Prior to this season, Sewanee's last win came on Feb. 11, 2007, 83-72.

-Thanks to an extremely gritty and strong defense by the Tigers, the Majors saw a streak come to an end. A streak of 123 consecutive games with a made 3-point field goal ended on Friday night, a streak that went over four-years. Millsaps' last contest with that statistic came on Dec. 1, 2015 at Rust College (Miss.).

-Additionally, this was the first time in the SAA-era that the Tigers limited to opposition to no made field goals from beyond the arc. Sewanee had allowed one 3-pointer to two opponents versus Rust (2014) and Emory & Henry (2015).

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Ellie Treanton led the Tigers with 12 points and added seven rebounds and two thefts.

-Abby Young, thanks to a 7-of-10 mark from the charity stripe, finished the game with 11 points and three assists.

-Lakeisha Phillips contributed 10 points and eight rebounds in 18 bench minutes.

-For the contest, Sewanee totaled 19 offensive rebounds, tying a season-high set earlier in the season at the Mississippi University for Women. The Tigers outrebounded the Majors, 38-29, for the contest.

MILLSAPS KEY STATISTICS
-Dia Fortenberry was the only player in double figures for the Majors with 12 points and added six steals and five boards.
