Hamilton College's Kelcie Zarle '22 scored 15 points and Liz Arnold '22 grabbed 12 rebounds and the Continentals posted a 74-51 non-conference win against the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers at Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday afternoon.

The Continentals (10-2 overall) improved to 3-0 at home as they outscored RIT 30-9 in the second quarter. Hamilton scored 32 points on 24 Tiger turnovers and enjoyed a 27-4 advantage in bench points.

RIT (3-5) was held to a season-low 51 points. The Tigers, who are 1-1 in the Liberty League, went just 4-for-9 at the free-throw line.

Ten of Arnold's 12 boards were on the offensive glass. Kayla Glemaud '21 chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds and Marie Steiner '20 scored all 12 of her points in the first half off the bench. Scout Lansing '21 handed out seven assists and is averaging more than six in the last five games. Lansing is second in the NESCAC with 4.4 assists per contest.

Kaleesha Joseph dropped in 18 points and led RIT with nine rebounds and four blocked shots. Joseph scored 15 of those points in the second half. Brooke Stanley added 18 points and Sarah Henretta contributed four assists and three steals.

The Tigers led 15-13 after the first quarter but Steiner opened the second with a jumper and two free throws as the Continentals took the lead for good 67 seconds into the quarter. Steiner scored 10 points in the second quarter.

RIT was still within six points at 30-24 after a Stanley layup with 4:08 left. Hamilton closed out the quarter with a 13-0 run and led by at least 11 the rest of the way. The Tigers missed three shots and committed four turnovers in the last four minutes of the half. Claire Sehring '22 started the spurt with a layup and Mackenzie Aldridge '20 added another basket in the paint. Zarle knocked down a 3-pointer and Steiner and Lansing drained jumpers. Lansing stole the ball on the next possession and passed ahead to Steiner for a layup in the final seconds as the Continentals took a 43-24 lead into the break.

Hamilton owned a 53-41 advantage after three quarters, and the Continentals' 23-point lead at the end of the game was their largest cushion of the afternoon.

Hamilton plays another non-conference contest at SUNY Cortland (6-1) on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. The teams were originally scheduled to meet back on Dec. 2 but the game was postponed due to heavy snow in Central New York.
