BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team improved to 3-0 on the year with its 84-72 win over Covenant College Saturday afternoon to close out play in the 2019 Richard Dardenne Memorial Classic in Bill Battle Coliseum. BSC (3-0) saw two drop more than 20 points in the win.
Derienne Black (Madison, Ala./Sparkman HS) and Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS) finished with 25 and 21 points, respectively. The pair also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Misa Fujii (Sunnyvale, Calif./Notre Dame HS) rounded out the Panthers in double figures. She earned 13 points and finished with a game-high seven assists.
The Panthers hit the road next. They travel to Jackson, Miss. for the Millsaps Tournament November 23-24. First game is against LeTourneau next Saturday at 11 a.m.
