TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The 2019-20 Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball schedule features 10 home games and appearances in two nationally prominent in-season tournaments.
Rose-Hulman's 10 home games include nine conference games and the annual Dorsett Automotive Crosstown Classic matchup against St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Wed. Dec. 4. The season begins with road games on Nov. 23 at Berea College and Nov. 26 at nationally ranked Chicago.
The two in-season tournament include the Midwest Challenge hosted by Washington (Mo.) and the Music City Classic in Nashville. The Midwest Challenge includes contests against Illinois Wesleyan on Nov. 30 and either DePauw or host Washington University on Dec. 1. The Music City Challenge features games against Washington & Lee on Dec. 29 and New Paltz on Dec. 30 in games taking place at Trevecca Nazarene University.
The conference schedule is highlighted by five Saturday home doubleheaders that include a men's game. Saturday doubleheaders will take place on Dec. 7 (Defiance), Jan. 4 (Hanover), Jan. 18 (Transylvania), Jan. 25 (Bluffton) and Feb. 1 (Mount St. Joseph). The Senior Day matchup will take place Feb. 1 against Mount St. Joseph.
Rose-Hulman finished 20-7 last season and was the runner-up in both the HCAC regular season and conference tournament. The Fightin' Engineers narrowly fell 63-61 in the conference title game, falling just two points shy of a third straight NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. Over the past four seasons, Rose-Hulman has compiled four 20-win seasons; a 90-19 overall record; won three regular season conference championships; and made the first two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances in program history. The 2019-20 team must replace its top five scorers, but returns four letter winners and has added a strong incoming class of eight confirmed players to continue its tradition of success.
