LATROBE, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College women's basketball team dropped a 70-48 decision to top-seeded Saint Vincent College in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Game at the Carey Center. 
 
The win improves Saint Vincent to 23-4 overall, while W&J falls to 19-8. 
 
Things started well for W&J as senior forward Danielle Parker (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) opened the scoring with a triple on the first possession of the game. After Saint Vincent recorded seven straight points, freshman guard Carlee Stelter (Wampum, Pa./Mohawk) drained a three of her own, cutting the deficit to 7-6 with 7:15 left in the first. 
 
A little later, an offensive rebound and putback by Parker cut the SVC lead to 11-9 at the 4:35 mark of the first. The hosts took control during the remainder of the quarter, rattling off a 13-1 run, which included a three-point play by Madison Kollar with 35 seconds left to make the score 24-10. 
 
That run spilled over into the second quarter, as Saint Vincent ripped off seven straight points to push the lead to 31-10 with 3:48 to play in the half. A steal and layup by freshman guard Aleena McDaniel (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) ended a scoring drought of more than eight minutes. 
 
Sophomore guard Alie Seto (Allison, Pa./Brownsville) beat the halftime buzzer with a three-pointer, closing the score to 38-17 at the break. 
 
Two free throws by freshman guard Kylie McKennen (Triadelphia, W.Va./Wheeling Park) and a three-pointer by freshman guard Tori Boalton (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) trimmed the deficit to 43-26 with 4:41 left in the third. 
 
After a couple of missed opportunities by W&J to get closer, Saint Vincent rattled off a 12-4 run to close the quarter, pushing their advantage to 55-30 heading to the fourth. The Bearcats closed out the win in dominant fashion, holding at least a 20-point lead for the entire fourth quarter.

The meeting was the seventh between the two schools in the PAC Tournament since 2011-12. W&J holds a 4-3 record in such meetings between the league rivals. 
 
Parker finished with nine points, 10 rebounds and two blocks, narrowly missing her eighth double-double of the season. The two blocks move her into third on the all-time blocks list. 
 
Boalton finished with a season-high nine points, draining three shots from behind the arc on the evening. Sophomore forward Maria Lawhorne (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) finished with eight points and eight rebounds. McKennen tallied six points, three assists, two steals and two rebounds. 
 
For her collegiate career, Parker has 1,331 points, 806 rebounds and 122 blocks. The PAC Championship game was her 109th appearance as a President. 
 
The Presidents will await word of a possible Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) postseason berth. The selections will be announced Monday (Feb. 26) afternoon.
