The Baruch College Bearcats lost 55-47 to the Bloodhounds of John Jay College on Friday night in CUNYAC action.
The two teams played a very competitive first two quarters with the Bearcats leading, 21-20, but the momentum changed in the third quarter quickly in John Jay's favor.
The Bearcats started the third scoring the first two baskets to lead 25-20, but the visiting Bloodhounds would then score 19 of the next 24 points to jump ahead, 39-30.
The Bearcats continued to battle and and managed to get as close as 48-45 after a jumper by Natalie Ibelhaupt with 1:14 left.
The Bloodhounds responded by scoring the next four points and that enabled them to hold on to the competitive win, 55-47.
Frances Snyder was tops this evening with 16 points. Melinda Spahiu had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Ibelhaupt finished with 11 points.
Katie Healy led the visitors with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
