The Baruch College Bearcats saved their best basketball in the fourth quarter to earn a 47-45 win against the Cardinals of York College on Monday night in Jamaica, New York.

The visiting Bearcats trailed 36-31 after the third quarter, but started the fourth on fire by quickly scoring the first 10 points.

Frances Snyder nailed a three to start the run and Valsenia Michie later hit a three on the back end of the 10 points for a 41-36 advantage with 6:46 left.

York battled back and twice managed to cut the Bearcats' lead to one point, including 46-45 with 11 seconds left, but Samantha Genco hit a free throw with six seconds left and stole the ball with two seconds to preserve the team's second straight CUNYAC win.

The Bearcats' had a balanced scoring attack with Melinda Spahiu and Synder each finishing with nine points. Spahiu, who earlier in the day was named the CUNYAC Player of the Week, also notched 11 steals in the road win.

The women's basketball team will next return home on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. CUNYAC contest against Brooklyn College.
