ALTOONA, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team pulled off a thrilling 90-87 win at Penn State-Altoona Wednesday to improve to 3-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action.

With the victory, Pitt-Bradford is believed to be off to its best start to conference play in program history at 3-0.

"We pulled it out down the stretch," Head Coach Sharay Hall said. "It was great to see Jen back and she played a great game for us today. We're looking forward to keeping this streak going."

After the first minute of the game, Penn State-Altoona led for about the next 37 minutes, but Pitt-Bradford hung around and used a late 8-0 run to take over and maintain the advantage the rest of the way.

With just under three minutes to play, Shirleah Ragin knocked down a three-pointer to pull within one. 

Following a defensive stop, Jennifer Isenberg gave Pitt-Bradford its first lead of the game, 82-81, with a layup at the 2:06 mark.

Then, Jasmin Miller hit the big shot, knocking down a three-pointer from the wing with 38 seconds left to make it a two-possession game.

But after a slew of free-throws from both sides, Altoona would hang around, knocking down a three-pointer from the top of the key with 14 seconds left to pull to within one, 88-87, with 14 seconds left.

A pair at the line from Ragin on the Panthers' next possession set up two more chances from Altoona to tie but both three-point attempts were off the mark and the Panthers held on for the win.

Both teams traded hot and cold spurts in the early parts of the game, and a three-pointer from the top of the key as time expired in the first half sent Altoona into the break with a 41-39 advantage.

A mostly even third period, Altoona outscored Pitt-Bradford 22-21 to build on its lead.

But a 9-18 shooting performance in the fourth period highlighted by 11 points from Ragin and 9-12 team free-throw shooting sent the Panthers past Altoona.

Ragin once again led all scorers and broke her previous career high with 25 points.

Isenberg added 23 points and Snipes scored 19, including three three-pointers.

Pitt-Bradford shot 42.3 percent from the floor and forced 22 Altoona turnovers aided by four steals from Snipes.
