Oxy Passes Well in Bethesda Win

LOS ANGELESRaveena Dhiman and Mallory North each had big scoring days with four 3-pointers, Taylor Yoshida got everyone involved in the offense and Emily Leonard was a presence inside as the Occidental women's basketball team beat Bethesda 67-53 at Rush Gym on Saturday.

Dhiman was Oxy's leading scorer with 20 points off the bench on 8 for 15 shooting and 4 for 10 from the 3-point line. North scored 16 points on 6 of 17 shooting and 4 for 11 from downtown.

Yohsida had eight assists, scored four points and had five steals, running the show for the Tigers.

"Taylor did a wonderful job of distributing the ball and our shooting guards did a nice job knocking down shots," Oxy head coach Anahit Aladzhanyan said. "Emily was relentless inside for us. Overall, it was a nice team win and a solid way to close out the tournament."

Madison Toy added 10 points and Leonard had eight points and six rebounds for Oxy.

Victoria Sosa led Bethesda with 14 points and Tatianna Lee added 11.

Oxy was outstanding taking care of the basketball, turning it over just seven times compared to Bethesda's 25 turnovers. The Tigers also had assists on 20 of their baskets. 

Season Impact: Oxy improves to 3-2 on the season.

Next Game: The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday against Cal Miramar at 7 p.m.
