As the Hamline women's basketball season starts its second week, two things are becoming clear.

1) The 2018-19 version can be explosive. On Friday, they used a 16-0 run in the first eight minutes oif the second quarter to break away from North Central en route to a 78-47 win at Hutton Arena.
2) The offense is becoming diversified by the game. Chan'el Anderson-Manning became the third different player to lead the team in scoring. The freshman guard (10) had a career high 16 to lead HU over the Rams.

Hamline improved to 3-0 for the first time since 1986-87 with the win. In addition to Anderson-Manning, Reilly Geistfeld scored 14 and Molly Wampler added 10. Isy Obiazor snapped off six rebounds while Geistfeld, Sophie Findell and Aly Sartain garnered five each to lead that facet of the game. 

HU led the rams, 16-13, after a quarter and then erupted at the start of the second session. Three pointers by Molly Wampler and Kaeli Stayer keyed the onslaught that saw HU grow the lead to 19 before NCU finally got on the board. 

After the break, Hamline's shooting eye improved even more and the Pipers outscored their guests 46-30 in the second half for the win. The Pipers hounded the Rams into 24 turnovers and now have forced 100 in the first three games of the new year. 

There won't be much name to reflect on this one. Hamline faces Bethany Lutheran (who is also 3-0) on Saturday, November 17 at Hutton. Game time is 5:00 p.m.
