No. 5 Hope Rallies Past Calvin In OT In MIAA Semifinal

The fifth-ranked Hope College women's basketball rebounded in overtime to edge Calvin College 63-58 Friday at DeVos Fieldhouse and advance to the championship game of the MIAA Tournament.

The Flying Dutch (25-1) will face No. 6 Trine, which defeated Albion 73-45 in Friday's other semifinal at Hope. The two teams split their regular-season meetings with each winning on their own court.

Hope outscored Calvin by a 13-8 margin in overtime after totaling a season-low five points during the fourth quarter. Both teams missed chances at the end of regulation to win it.

Forward Francesca Buchanan scored 14 points to lead the Flying Dutch. Guards Madison Geers and Kenedy Schoonveld added 13 points apiece.

Calvin (16-10) was led by Ali Spayde's 21 points.
