The Baruch College Bearcats lost 91-69 to the Lightning of Lehman College on Sunday afternoon in a CUNYAC quarterfinal round contest at the Lehman College Sportsplex in the Bronx, New York.

The visiting Bearcats started by leading 17-14 after the first period, but an 11-0 run by the Lightning midway through the second period broke open the playoff for a 33-23 advantage. 

The Bearcats battled back to get as close at six (43-37) at halftime to set up an exciting final 20 minutes, but the hosts scored the first seven points in the third period. They eventually grew the lead to 19 points en route to their advancing to the semifinals on Wednesday night against Staten Island.

Shannon Barrett had a solid afternoon with a near double-double of 25 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Rookie Melinda Spahiu totaled 21 points and seven rebounds.

Aliyah Dorsett and Selena Lopez finished with 20 points each for the Lightning.
