(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The No. 4-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team clinched at-least a share of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship today (Saturday, February 10, 2018) as it defeated Waynesburg University, 107-62, at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 22-1 and remain undefeated in the PAC at 16-0 with two games left in the regular season.  With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 13-10 overall and 9-7 in the PAC.

Waynesburg took an 8-6 lead when Addy Knetzer made a lay-up with 6:02 to play in the first quarter, but the Saints responded with a 14-0 run to close the quarter and lead 20-8 after one quarter when junior guard Kelly Clapper (Newark, Ohio/Newark Catholic) made a jumper with 32-seconds to play in the quarter.  The Saints then had a 26-19 scoring advantage in the second quarter to extend the lead to 46-27 at halftime, 33-12 advantage in the third quarter to lead 79-39 after three quarters and cruised to the 107-62 victory.

Thomas More shot 62 percent (44-of-71) from the field, including 60 percent (12-of-20) from behind the three-point arc.  The Saints had a 52-20 advantage on points in the paint and 32-14 off turnovers.  Thomas More's defense forced 29 Yellow Jacket turnovers.

Senior guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) led all scorers with 20 points as 14 of the 15 Saints that played found the scoring column.  Joining Owings in double-figures was junior guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) with 16 points and senior forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) with 15 points.  Kiernan, Temple and junior forward Shelby Rupp (Milan, Ind./Batesville) led the team on the boards with four rebounds each.  Temple led the team in assists with four, while Kiernan led the Saints in blocks with five and Owings led the way in steals with seven.

Thomas More will travel to Latrobe, Pennsylvania on Wednesday (February 14) to play Saint Vincent College at 5:30 p.m. inside the Carey Center.
