SALEM, VA --- Tied at the end of the third, the Eastern Mennonite women's basketball team stormed back in the fourth quarter en route to a 72-66 victory over host Roanoke College on Saturday afternoon. The Royals (12-8/7-5 ODAC) return to Yoder Arena on Tuesday evening, hosting Shenandoah for a 7:00pm tip. 

The Maroons opened the game with a 12-5 run and held a five-point lead at the end of the quarter. 

RC jumped out again early in the second quarter until the Royals scored on three straight possessions, including back-to-back treys from Lindsey Krisak (Alexandria, Va. / Thomas A. Edison) to bring the score to 18-18 with 6:30 remaining. Roanoke scored the next four, but EMU responded with an 8-0 spurt to come back on top at 26-22 with 2:20 remaining. The women nearly had a five-point cushion heading to the lockers, but the Maroons used a three-pointer at the buzzer to come with two for a 29-27 halftime score. 

The third period was back and forth with neither team able to open up a sizeable lead; however, Roanoke used an 8-3 run to open the half, making it 35-32 at the 7:44 mark. Myneshia Walker (Freeman, Va. / Brunswick) and Jess Washington (Chesapeake, Va. / Great Bridge) answered after scoring on back-to-back possessions, sparking an 11-2 run to regain the lead at 43-39. 

The remaining 2:42 of the third was plagued by fouls and free throws, slowing the game to a 49-49 tie heading into the fourth quarter. Tied at 51, the Royals went on a commanding 12-1 run to pull ahead 63-52 with seven minutes to go in the game. The Maroons came within three at 69-66, but Krisak went one-for-two from the stripe followed by a pair of Lexi Deffenbaugh (Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) free throws to earn a 72-66 win in Salem, Va. 

Krisak led all scorers with 13 points, while Walker finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Brianna Zook (Harrisonburg, Va. / Broadway) pulled down seven rebounds and added 11 points. 

EMU held a slight 39.6% to 38.3% advantage from the floor, and had a +9 margin in boards.
