LANCASTER, Pa.  The Gettysburg College women's basketball team wrapped up a perfect five-game road trip with a well-balanced effort as 11 Bullets hit the scoring column in a 70-50 Centennial Conference victory over Franklin & Marshall College Thursday night inside the Mayser Center.

Gettysburg (15-2, 11-1 CC) finished one made field goal shy of 50 percent shooting (27-of-56) while out-rebounding Franklin & Marshall 47-25. The Bullets scored 44 points in the paint compared to just 18 by the hosts.

Junior Emma Dorshimer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) posted 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists to lead Gettysburg. Senior Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) added 10 points and six boards, while senior Kendra Meredith (Boyds, Md./Northwest), sophomore Ashley Gehrin (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham), and freshman Meredith Brown (Landisburg, Pa./West Perry) each produced nine tallies.

Haley Pilone scored 21 points and Kristin Hamill added 11 for the Diplomats.

Franklin & Marshall seized a 9-8 lead on a lay-up by Pilone with 3:43 left in the first quarter, but Gettysburg would surge in front with a 9-0 run to end the frame. Back-to-back turnovers by the Diplomats led to buckets for the Bullets and set the score at 17-9 going into the second quarter.

The hosts clawed within seven late in the first half only to be victimized by another strong run by the visitors. Meredith accounted for a pair of lay-ups during an eight-point spurt which helped Gettysburg take a 37-24 lead into the locker room.

Gettysburg maintained the double-figure advantage throughout the second half and it would hit a game-high 25 (66-41) on a free throw by Brown with 4:34 to play.

The Bullets held the Diplomats to just 18-of-52 (34.6 percent) from the field and tallied 18 points off 16 turnovers by the hosts.
