No. 5 Saints Cross Century Mark in 101-60 Win Over Grove City

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The fifth-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team crossed the century mark of the third time this season as it defeated Grove City College, 101-60, today (Saturday, January 20, 2018) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 16-1 overall and 10-0 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Wolverines fall to 11-6 overall and 6-4 in the PAC.

Thomas More never trailed in the game as it led by as many as 43 points and led 26-12 after one quarter, 45-27 at halftime and 70-47 after three quarters as it cruised to the 101-60 victory.  The Saints held a 48-17 advantage in points in the paint, 30-5 in points off turnovers.  Thomas More's bench out-scored Grove City's 56-19.  The Saitns shot 60.7 percent (37-of-61) from the field, including 57.1 percent (12-of-21) from behind the three-point arc.

Junior guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) led four Saints in double-figure scoring with a game-high 20 points.  Joining her in double-figures was first-year guard Briana McNutt (Maysville, Ky./Mason County) with 15 points and senior forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) and sophomore forward Emily Schultz (Melbourne, Ky./Bishop Brossart) with 11 points each.  Kiernan and Temple led the team on the board with four rebounds each, while Temple dished out a game-high six assists and Kiernan blocked three shots.

Thomas More returns to action on Wednesday (January 24) with it travels to Greenville, Pennsylvania to play Thiel College.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Beeghly Gymnasium.
