Junior center Hannah Spaulding had 26 points and 12 rebounds and junior guard Kaylie Brazil scored a career-best 20 points to lead No. 13-ranked St. Thomas to a 63-51 road victory over third-place Bethel in Wednesday night's MIAC women's basketball play in Arden Hills.
The Tommies (14-2 overall, 9-0 MIAC), who remain in a share of the MIAC lead with St. Ben's, have won 43 consecutive games against conference opponents and 24 in a row on the road dating back three seasons.
They swept the regular-season series against the Royals (11-5, 6-3) and ended BU's eight-game win streak.
The Toms led 42-19 at halftime and were still up 54-33 after three quarters before going cold. Bethel used an 18-4 run to climb within 58-51 with just under 3:00 remaining. But BU missed two shots and had a turnover on its final three possessions down the stretch.
UST shot 47 percent from the floor, had only 12 turnovers, and outscored the host team 18-6 from 3-point range.
St. Thomas plays Saturday at St. Ben's in a battle of conference unbeatens.
