Baruch Defeats Medgar Evers, Improve to 2-1 in CUNYAC

The Baruch College Bearcats led from start to finish to record a 65-39 CUNYAC win against the Cougars of Medgar Evers College on Wednesday night in Brooklyn, New York.

The visiting Bearcats scored 26 points off 30 turnovers by the Cougars and led by as many as 31 points late in the contest.

The Cougars were as close as 9-8 in the first period, but Sameera Ahmed scored six straight points to help finish the period for a comfortable 15-8 lead that they would never relinquish the rest of the game. 

Shannon Barrett paced the Bearcats again with her fourth double-double of the season with 21 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Melinda Spahiu had another big game with a double-double of 18 points, 10 rebounds and career-high eight steals.

Sameera Ahmed quickly notched her first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Maria Myrianthopoulos had six points and rebounds each.

Cyndi Whyte led the hosts with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds.
