Temple Leads No. 8 Saints to a 79-25 Win Over Westminster

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Junior guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) just missed a double-double as she scored a game-high 22 point and pulled down nine rebounds today (Wednesday, January 3, 2018) to lead the eighth-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team to a 79-25 win over Westminster College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 11-1 overall and remain undefeated in the PAC at 5-0.  Westminster falls to 3-8 overall and 0-5 in the PAC after the loss.

Thomas More trailed 2-0 at the start of the game and responded with a 24-0 run to lead 24-2 after one quarter. The Saints then led 38-6 at halftime and 65-15 after three quarters as they cruised to the 79-25 victory.

Thomas More had a 36-12 advantage in the paint, 37-6 off turnovers and 13-2 on second chance points.

Sophomore forward Emily Schultz (Melbourne, Ky./Bishop Brossart) joined Temple in double-figure scoring with 13 points, while sophomore guard Taylor Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) and junior guard Kelly Clapper (Newark, Ohio/Newark Catholic) each finished with eight points.  On the boards, Schultz pulled down eight rebounds and first-year guard Hayden White (Milford, Ohio/Milford) had six rebounds.  Temple led the team in assists with six, while first-year guard Tori Gilman (Milford, Ohio/Milford) led the team in steals with five.

Prior to tip-off the Saints honored Temple for scoring her 1,000th career point on December 19 against Willamette College in the Hoop N' Surf Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (January 6) when it travels to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to play PAC foe Geneva College.  Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Metheny Fieldhouse.
