Delaware, Ohio - DePauw shot a season-high 57 percent from the field and posted the season's best point total in an 84-51 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Ohio Wesleyan. The Tigers improved to 13-1 overall and 5-0 in the NCAC with their ninth straight win, while the Battling Bishops dropped to 1-11 overall and 0-3 in NCAC play.
The Tigers, ranked 12th in the latest coaches' poll and 13th by D3hoops.com, never trailed in the contest and held a 20-10 lead after the first period as they outscored the hosts, 8-0, over the final 1:58. DePauw's halftime lead was 39-25 and the Battling Bishops closed to within 12 in the third, but another 8-0 run pushed the margin to 20. Ohio Wesleyan got no closer than 17 the rest of the way.
Sydney Kopp led the Tigers with 22 points, while Emily Budde chipped in 16 and Kylie Morris added a career-high 15. Elea Karras paced Ohio Wesleyan with 14 points.
DePauw held a 39-27 edge on the boards as Kopp led with eight. Claire Sterling matched that total for the Battling Bishops.
Maya Howard paced DePauw with five assists.
DePauw's 57.1 percent shooting topped the previous best this season of 54.7 percent at Wooster. The Tigers also hit 6 of 12 3-pointers and knocked in 14 of 17 free throws.
Ohio Wesleyan shot 36.1 percent from the floor and hit just 2 of 21 from beyond the 3-point arc.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, January 6, when it hosts Kenyon at 3 p.m.
