Free throws from guards Arika Tolbert and Kenedy Schoonveld over the final 24 seconds helped the nationally ranked Hope College women's basketball team hold off Baldwin Wallace, Ohio for a 55-53 victory Tuesday at the RDV Sportsplex Classic in Orlando, Florida.

The Flying Dutch improved to 9-0 overall for the third time in four seasons.

Tolbert split her foul-shot attempts with seven seconds to give Hope a two-point lead with seven seconds remaining. Baldwin Wallace (6-4) got the ball upcourt in time but could not get a shot off before the final buzzer sounded.

Tolbert, pictured, finished with a game-high 14 points off the bench. The sophomore from Lathrup Village, Michigan (Detroit Country Day HS) matched her career-high in scoring to help the Flying Dutch overcome their lowest-scoring game of the season.

Schoonveld made four free throws over the final 1:37 to keep Hope in the lead. The freshman from Zeeland, Michigan (Holland Christian) hit her final two for a 54-49 lead with 24 seconds remaining.

Schoonveld and senior guard Madison Geers of Scottville, Michigan (Mason County Central) totaled eight points apiece.

Hope improved to 11-0 overall at the RDV Sportsplex Classic.

The Flying Dutch will face Baldwin Wallace again on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
