Both teams struggled to find the touch in the opening quarter with Dorshimer finally breaking the drought with a three-pointer 3:38 into the game. The Bullets tacked on four more points to seize a 7-0 lead.

The Thoroughbreds answered with a 12-2 run and the first quarter finished in a 14-all tie. Skidmore took the lead at the beginning of the second frame and held that same two-point margin (26-24) heading into the locker room.

After canning just 10-of-32 (31.3 percent) shots in the opening 20 minutes, Gettysburg found the range in the third quarter, hitting 8-of-13 (61.5 percent) attempts. After trading buckets to start the period, Gehrin raced down the court for a fast-break lay-up to put the Bullets ahead 32-30 and kick-start a 17-4 run. A free throw by sophomore Sofia Taveras (River Edge, N.J./Saddle River Day) set the score at 47-34 heading into the last quarter.

Donnelly managed to slice the deficit down to seven twice in the opening minutes of the final period, including at 49-42 with 6:14 to play. Following a pair of free throws by Meredith, Dorshimer canned a three-pointer to set Gettysburg back in front by 12 (54-42) with 4:15 left. Another three-pointer by the junior guard 80 seconds later pushed the margin to 13 (58-45).

The Thoroughbreds mounted a furious comeback with a 12-2 run. Moceri completed an old-fashioned three-point play as well as hitting from distance before a jumper by Donnelly trimmed the lead down to 60-57 with 16 seconds left.

Meredith knocked down a pair of free throws with seven seconds left and Dorshimer polished off the win with two more freebies following a missed three-pointer by Skidmore.

The two teams converted nearly identical percentages from the field with Gettysburg finishing 21-of-51 (41.2 percent) and Skidmore finishing 23-of-56 (41.1 percent). The biggest advantage came at the charity stripe as the Bullets converted 11 more attempts and finished 17-of-20 overall.

Dorshimer's 20-point effort was her second of the season and 18th of her career. She is just 46 points away from reaching 1,000 for her career.
