HOBOKEN, N.J. (December 6, 2017)  – Junior Megan Anderson drained a long three-pointer with the shot clock winding down late in the fourth quarter, helping the Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team rally from an double-digit deficit for a 62-51 victory over DeSales University Wednesday at Canavan Arena.

Senior Anna Toke recorded her second double-double in as many games with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while blocking a career-high five shots and junior Megan Brown filled the stat sheet with nine points, seven rebounds, six assists and a pair of blocks and steals to lead Stevens. The victory moved Stevens to 3-4 on the season and knotted the all-time series between the programs at 2.

Leandra Sterner led all players with 17 points and Bridget Walsh came off the bench to pull down a game-high 14 rebounds. The loss snapped DeSales' two-game winning streak. The Bulldogs fell to 5-3.

After watching DeSales open up a 13-point lead in the first quarter, a smothering Stevens defense held the Bulldogs to 2-of-19 shooting in the second quarter as the Ducks closed to within three at halftime.

Turning Point

  • Clinging to a four-point lead with under three minutes to play, Stevens beat the DeSales full-court press and began to run its offense.
  • A deflection led to a scramble on the floor for the loose ball.
  • Sophomore Alison Criswell kept the possession alive, redirecting the ball to Brown from her position on the floor. Brown quickly fired a shovel pass to Anderson on the nearside wing.
  • With the shot clock at three seconds, Anderson calmy sank a long three-point basket for her only field goal of the game.
