PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- The University of New England women's basketball team limited Clarkson University to just 27 percent shooting and forced 24 turnovers on the way to a 67-38 victory at Memorial Hall on Friday night (Nov. 17) as play began in the Cardinal Classic hosted by Plattsburgh State University.

With the win, the Nor'easters (2-0) will face Plymouth State University in Saturday's 3 p.m. championship game. The Panthers nipped the host institution by a 59-53 margin earlier in the evening.

UNE's scoring effort was paced by Olivia Shaw with 14 points, while Sam MacDonald and Jocelyn Chaput each added 12. Chaput also hauled in a career-best 14 rebounds and dished out six assists. Both Elyssa Nicholas and Nicole Hamblin contributed eight points.

The Nor'easters significantly out-rebounded their opponent, 56-24, and 24 from the offensive glass factored heavily in UNE's 40 points scored in the lane.

UNE led by six after one quarter, and by eight at halftime, before breaking things open in the 3rd (24-8) to go up 46-22.

Tricia Loso guided the Golden Knights (1-1) with nine points.
