KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team opened North Eastern Athletic Conference play with a 68-35 victory over Penn College on Wednesday night at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

Keuka College (5-0, 1-0 NEAC) was led by junior Lauren Anten (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) with 15 points. Also scoring in double-digits was Reighly Melochick (Minersville, Pa. / Minersville Area) with 12 points and Sarah Tyler (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) with 10 points.

Keuka College 68 vs. Penn College 35

The Wolves got out to a fast lead over the Wildcats on Wednesday night. Reighly Melochick scored eight points in the frame and the Wolves held Penn College to just 2-13 (15.4%) from the floor as Keuka led 15-5 after the first quarter.

The Green and Gold turned in their best shooting quarter of the game in the second. Keuka shot 54.5% from the field and 66.7% from long distance. Lauren Anten went 3-3 from three-point range in the second to lead Keuka with nine points in the quarter. The Wolves allowed only nine points on the other end as Keuka College carried a 30-14 lead into the halftime break.

The third quarter was a balanced effort at six different players found the scoresheet for Keuka College. The Green and Gold shot 50% from the field as they increased their scoring output for the second straight quarter. They netted 18 points in the third to lead 48-23 going into the final quarter.

Keuka College closed it out with 20 points in the fourth. Freshman Kaitlin Snipas (Mountain Top, Pa. / Crestwood) went 3-4 from deep for a team-leading nine points in the quarter. The Wolves continued on for the 68-35 victory.

• The win was the 155th North Eastern Athletic Conference victory in program history. The Wolves are now 100 games over .500 all-time in the NEAC with a 155-55 record

• With her three three-pointers in the fourth quarter, Kaitlin Snipas set a new career-high with nine points
• Sam Laranjo (Averill Park, N.Y. / Averill Park) had another strong game at point guard for the Wolves with eight assists

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are on the road on Saturday, travelling to Marcy, N.Y. to face the SUNY Poly Wildcats. The Wildcats have won the last eight meetings with Keuka College, defeating the Wolves 69-40 and 67-54 last season.
