NEW CONCORD, OHIO – The trio of sophomore guard Nicole Weaver (Fort Wayne, Ind.); junior forward/center Beth Schaefer (Fort Wayne, Ind.); and freshman guard Mikalia Taylor (Connersville, Ind.) each produced double-figure scoring efforts, leading Manchester University during its first road trip of the 2017-17 season Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Weaver recorded her fifth career and second such scoring effort in the last three contests, draining four three-pointers in route to 17 points. She also dished out three assists and picked off a pair of Muskingum University pass attempts. Schaefer, coming off an all-tournament honor at the season-opening Main View Tip-Off, continued to impress with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Taylor wasn't far off her first collegiate double-double tallying 12 points and nine boards.

Despite those marks for Coach Josh Dzurick's squad, it wasn't enough to move the Spartans over .500. The host Fightin' Muskies went eight-of-10 at the free throw line in the last minute to hold off their guests 76-66, while a 12-9 edge in made three-point buckets also proved key.

MU (1-2) looks to get back to level on the year Tuesday, Nov. 28. They return to Stauffer-Wolfe Arena for a 7 p.m. start against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe Kalamazoo College.
