HOUGHTON, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior forward McKenna Brooks netted 18 points and recorded a career-high seven steals as the Knights earned a victory over host Houghton, 65-38, on Wednesday night at the Nielsen Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brooks scored Geneseo's first seven points as the team finished the first quarter leading Houghton, 12-8.
- In the second quarter, the Knights used an 8-for-16 shooting effort to outscore the Highlanders, 20-10, and take a 32-18 lead into the halftime break.
- Junior guard Kelsey Poplawski and first-year forward Kerrin Montgomery each scored six points in the third quarter as Geneseo grew its lead to 55-28.
- In the fourth quarter, 13 different Knights saw action as Geneseo held its 27-point advantage to the final whistle.

- Brooks' seven steals are the most by a Geneseo player since Jackie Fertitta swiped eight against Plattsburgh in 2004.
