LISLE, IL - Facing visiting Alverno College for the second time in less than a week, the Benedictine University women's basketball team was ousted from the conference tournament in the game's closing seconds.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine stormed out of the gates, scoring the first four points of the contest on a layup from Casey Williams and a jumper from Alena Moro
• Consecutive baskets from Roxanna Gaddis and Venita Parsons pushed the lead to 8-1 with 4:50 left in the opening quarter
• Benedictine scored the final six points of the opening quarter to grab a 19-6 lead after one
• The lead remained in double figures through most of the second
• Parsons, who scored 18 in the first half, splashed home a three-pointer with 3:55 to play in the half, making the score 29-14
• Alverno closed the half by scoring seven straight, closing within 33-28
• The momentum carried into the second half as Alverno scored the first eight points to extend the run to 15-0 and lead 35-33
• Georgia Alexakos converted a layup to give Benedictine a 44-39 lead with just over five minutes left in the third
• Neither team led by more than four points the rest of the way
• Benedictine held a 49-46 lead entering the fourth
• Alverno took a 54-50 lead by virtue of an 8-1 run with 7:18 to go
• D'Asia Williams scored four consecutive points as Benedictine countered, jumping ahead 55-54 with 6:09 left
• The largest lead the rest of the game was two points after a three from Williams gave Benedictine a 62-60 edge with 2:09 remaining
• The visitors took the lead on a three-point play with 47 seconds left before Parsons split free throws to tie the game with 21 seconds left
• A split of free throws after an offensive rebound with a second remaining accounted for the difference
• The contest featured eight ties and 11 lead changes

• Benedictine shot 31.3 percent for the game but finished 15-of-28 from the free throw line
• Benedictine held a 48-42 advantage on the glass, grabbing 22 offensive boards which led to 21 second chance points
• Parsons led all scorers with 19 points
• Alexakos posted 10 points with a career high 17 rebounds for a double-double
• D'Asia Williams also collected a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards
