LISLE, IL - Facing visiting Alverno College for the second time in less than a week, the Benedictine University women's basketball team was ousted from the conference tournament in the game's closing seconds.

THE DETAILS
Benedictine stormed out of the gates, scoring the first four points of the contest on a layup from Casey Williams and a jumper from Alena Moro
Consecutive baskets from Roxanna Gaddis and Venita Parsons pushed the lead to 8-1 with 4:50 left in the opening quarter
Benedictine scored the final six points of the opening quarter to grab a 19-6 lead after one
The lead remained in double figures through most of the second
Parsons, who scored 18 in the first half, splashed home a three-pointer with 3:55 to play in the half, making the score 29-14
Alverno closed the half by scoring seven straight, closing within 33-28
The momentum carried into the second half as Alverno scored the first eight points to extend the run to 15-0 and lead 35-33
Georgia Alexakos converted a layup to give Benedictine a 44-39 lead with just over five minutes left in the third
Neither team led by more than four points the rest of the way
Benedictine held a 49-46 lead entering the fourth
Alverno took a 54-50 lead by virtue of an 8-1 run with 7:18 to go
D'Asia Williams scored four consecutive points as Benedictine countered, jumping ahead 55-54 with 6:09 left
The largest lead the rest of the game was two points after a three from Williams gave Benedictine a 62-60 edge with 2:09 remaining
The visitors took the lead on a three-point play with 47 seconds left before Parsons split free throws to tie the game with 21 seconds left
A split of free throws after an offensive rebound with a second remaining accounted for the difference
