Providence, R.I.--The Rhode Island College women's basketball team dropped a 57-50 decision against Southern Maine in a Little East Conference contest played at The Murray Center on Saturday afternoon. The game was the final regular season home game for senior guard Alex Moore (West Newbury, MA) who was honored in a ceremony prior to the contest. |

Junior guard Jessa Rubera (Newton, MA) tallied 14 points, four rebounds and two steals to lead RIC (5-17, 2-10 LEC). Moore chipped in with 13 points, five rebounds and two assists, while freshman forward Ornela Livramento (Pawtucket, RI) was also in double figures with 11 points and a team-best eight rebounds. |

Sophomore guard Alexa Srolovitz (Montreal, Quebec) paced Southern Maine (5-18, 4-8 LEC) with 16 points and four rebounds. Junior forward Miranda Nicely (Farmington, ME) added 11 points and seven boards, while freshman forward Chantel Eels (Turner, ME) was also in double figures with 10 points. |

The two teams traded leads throughout the first quarter with RIC holding the 11-10 advantage after a layup from freshman guard Fatima McDonald (Attleboro, MA) with 5:05 left in the quarter. Southern Maine then went on a 6-0 run, capped by a free throw from Eels, to take a 16-11 lead with 1:39 left in the first. The visiting Huskies led, 16-13, after one quarter of play. |

RIC responded early in the second quarter and opened on an 8-2 run to take its largest lead of the half, 21-18, on a three-pointer from Rubera. The Huskies then closed out the half on a 9-2 run and took a 27-23 advantage heading into the locker room at halftime. |

Southern Maine took its first double digit lead early in the third quarter as a free throw from freshman guard Jackie Luckhardt (Londonderry, NH) made the score 33-23 with 6:02 left in the quarter. The Huskies led by as many as 12 in the third before RIC closed out the quarter on a 15-6 run to close the gap to just three, 41-38, with 10 minutes left to play. |

The Anchorwomen closed to within just two points after a pair of free throws from Livramento made the score, 47-45, with 4:38 left in the contest. That would be as close as the hosts would get as Southern Maine hit three free throws in the final minute to seal the victory. |

RIC shot 28.6 percent (16-of-56) from the field, 21.4 percent (3-of-14) from behind the three-point stripe and 68.2 percent (15-of-22) from the free throw line. Southern Maine shot 35.2 percent (19-of-54) from the field, 15.0 percent (3-of-20) from the three-point line and 55.2 percent (16-of-29) from the free throw line. |
