CONWAY, Ark. (Feb. 10, 2017) – Led by All-American candidate Sara Dyslin, Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Hendrix earned a 67-52 win over the Sewanee women's basketball team, Friday, inside Grove Gymnasium.

Dyslin finished with 21 points and nine rebounds, which helped the Warriors outscore the Tigers 34-22 in the paint. The loss snapped Sewanee's three-game winning streak. The Tigers are now 8-14 overall and 5-7 in league play. 

Hendrix raced out to a 24-10 first quarter lead. Dyslin led the Warriors with nine points on 3-for-3 shooting. Comparably, Sewanee struggled at the start. The Tigers made only 37.5 percent of their shots in the opening frame.

Sewanee battled back in the second quarter. In fact, the Tigers outscored the Warriors 15-13 in the second. Down 35-16, sophomore Sue Kim made a layup. That opened 9-2 run by the purple and gold right before halftime. Along with Kim, Savannah Rose hit a three, as did freshman Allison Hitchcock.

Sewanee pulled to within 10 points, 39-29, early in the third quarter after a Hannah McCormack jumper. From there, Hendrix answered back. In fact, the Tigers never got closer. Hendrix outscored Sewanee 30-27 the final 20 minutes.

Overall, Sewanee struggled from the field making only 33.3 percent of its shots. Hendrix's offense played well making 50 percent of its attempts.

Individually, McCormack led Sewanee with 13 points and eight rebounds. Additionally, Rose, Taylor, and Hitchcock all had eight points.

Sewanee returns to action with a 1:00 p.m. contest at Rhodes, Sunday.
