RIPON, Wis. - Ripon scored the first 14 points of Wednesday's game against Lawrence, propelling the Red Hawks to an 83-30 victory. The 53-point win marks Ripon's largest margin of victory in 14 years, while Lawrence's 30 points is the fewest points Ripon has allowed in a game since the 2002-03 season. The victory, which extends Ripon's Midwest Conference-best win streak to six games, also clinches a spot in the MWC Tournament for the second consecutive season and gives Ripon back-to-back 14 win seasons for the first time in seven years, while their 12 conference wins are the most since the 2009-10 season.

Ripon (14-6, 12-3 MWC) converted 50 percent (32-64) of their shots, including 38 percent (6-16) from 3-point range, while also converting 93 percent (13-14) of their free throws, which breaks the school's single game record for highest free throw percentage. The Red Hawks defense was just as lethal, holding Lawrence (2-18, 0-15) to just 21 percent (10-48) shooting, including 18 percent (3-17) from 3-point range. Ripon also forced 19 turnovers, which they turned into 24 points, and out-rebounded the Vikings 48-22, which helped Ripon hold a 40-10 advantage in second-chance points.

The Red Hawks didn't allow a point until three minutes remained in the opening quarter, and they entered the second quarter with a 19-5 lead. After going into halftime with a 45-16 lead, the Red Hawks didn't let up in the second half, outscoring Lawrence 38-14 in the second half, while allowing the Vikings to score just four points in the final quarter.

Ripon was led by Megan Jensen and Emma McDonald, whom each finished with 14 points. McDonald was 6-for-7, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range, while Jensen continued her hot shooting as of late, making 5-of-11 shots, including 4-of-9 from downtown. Jensen is now shooting 58 percent (11-19) from 3-point range in Ripon's last five games.

Nicole Herkert led the Red Hawks with six assists, to go along with two rebounds and four points. That gives her 700 career points, making her the 24th player in program history to accomplish that feat. Maggie Oimoen added 13 points and nine rebounds, while Eleanore Mueller added nine points and seven boards (four offensive), while playing just 10 minutes. Twelve different players scored at least two points for the Red Hawks.

Lawrence was led by a 15-point, six-rebound effort from Olivia Hoesley. Nicole Cummins added six points and a game-high four steals.

With the win, Ripon remains in a second-place tie with St. Norbert in the MWC standings, two games behind Cornell. The Red Hawks will try to extend their winning streak to seven games on Saturday when they'll travel to Illinois College. That game will begin at 1 p.m. in Jacksonville, Ill. and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
