THOUSAND OAKS — Triana Anderson scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Occidental women's basketball team suffered a road loss at first-place Cal Lutheran, 69-53 on Wednesday.

Anderson, the team's leading scorer and fifth leading scorer in the SCIAC at 14.2 ppg, scored 10 of her points in the first half, but it wasn't enough as the Tigers struggled from the field and turned it over 15 times.

The Tigers went just 1 for 13 from the three-point line and shot just 36 percent to Cal Lutheran's 48 percent on the game.

Tala Ismail scored nine points for Oxy, Emily Leonard added eight off the bench and Shariah Green added six.

Tatiana Dunlap scored a game-high 24 points and snagged seven rebounds to lead Cal Lutheran.

Season Impact: The Tigers fall to 12-10 overall and 8-5 in SCIAC play.

Cal Lutheran moves to 14-7 and 10-2.

Next Game: Oxy plays its biggest game of the season with major SCIAC playoff implications, at Redlands at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The Tigers are currently sitting in fifth in the SCIAC, trailing the Bulldogs by a half game in the standings, who sit at 8-4. Redlands won the first match up between the two teams by one point at Oxy earlier this season and would own any head-to-head tiebreakers with Oxy if they swept the season series on Saturday.

Whittier is the next closest team to Oxy and Redlands at 5-7 in sixth place.
