RIVER FOREST, IL - Venita Parsons drained six three-pointers as the Benedictine University women's basketball team took down Concordia University Chicago on the road Tuesday night.

Following a close opening four minutes, Concordia Chicago used a 13-0 run to open a 23-11 lead with 1:29 left in the first
Still trailing by 12 with 7:11 remaining in the first half, Alena Moro kicked off a 16-2 run with a layup to help reverse the trend
Parsons splashed home a three-pointer with 3:26 to go in the half, putting Benedictine in front 33-31
D'Asia Williams evened the game in the final minute of the half to send the game into the break at 38-38
The momentum continued though the third quarter with a 14-4 run
Parsons connected on a three-pointer at the 8:32 mark to put Benedictine ahead for good
Free throws from Andrea Fuoss finished the run in the final minute, pushing the margin to 54-44
Georgia Alexakos hit a free throw to open the fourth before Concordia Chicago came storming back with 11 straight to tie the game with 6:11 left
Benedictine responded with four straight and ended the game with a 9-0 run to score the win
The contest featured nine ties and 10 lead changes
Benedictine moved into a tie for second place with the win

"What a huge road conference win," head coach Charlie Averkamp said. "Concordia Chicago came out on fire, shooting 71 percent in the first. Credit to our team for never giving up and continuing to battle. Turning the ball over only nine times against their pressure was impressive. Venita (Parsons) continues to be unbelievable this season, hitting big shot after big shot."
