NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Sophomore center Maddy Minehart (Auburn, Ind.) and freshman guard Nicole Weaver (Fort Wayne, Ind.) led the scoring column for Manchester University Saturday, Feb. 4.
Minehart, coming off the bench, tallied 12 points, grabbed six rebounds and picked off three steals to lead the Black and Gold (7-14 overall, 6-8 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) during an 83-58 loss to Hanover College at Stauffer-Wolfe Arena. Weaver finished with 11 points, and the duo of sophomore guard Faith-Alexis Graham (Indianapolis, Ind.) and senior guard Jenifer Lee (Rockville, Ind.) ended just shy of double figures with eight points apiece. Graham was the team leader in assists, dishing off seven of the Spartans' nine assists for the afternoon, while Lee tallied four rebounds to go with her point total.
Coach Josh Dzurick's crew kept the visiting Panthers within range early on, but Hanover's high-octane offense managed to build an advantage of 18 points at halftime and didn't look back. Manchester University continued a stretch of four home games over its final five regular season contests Wednesday, Feb. 8, as Anderson University visits North Manchester for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
