ABINGTON, Pa. – The Keuka College Women's Basketball team had six players score in double-digits as the Wolves defeated Penn St.-Abington 72-63 on Sunday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game.

Keuka College (6-7, 4-5 NEAC) returns to the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Wednesday as they host SUNY Delhi in a non-conference matchup.

Six Wolves scored in double-figures for Keuka College. It is the first time that Keuka has accomplished this since Keuka College played Philadelphia Biblical University in December 2006.

For the second game in a row, Keuka College was led in scoring by freshman Sam Laranjo (Averill Park, N.Y. / Averill Park). She scored 14 points for the Wolves and added eight rebounds, a career-high. Lauren Anten (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) recorded the second double-double of her career. The sophomore scored 10 points and grabbed a career-best 13 rebounds. Seniors Katie Stuart (Tupper Lake, N.Y. / Tupper Lake) and Courtney Boyea (Chateaugay, N.Y. / Chateaugay) each recorded 11 points and centers Tiffany Binion (Rochester, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili) and Abby Hess (Cortland, N.Y. / Cortland) each added 10 points in the win.

The Wolves won the opening tip and Katie Stuart scored the opening basket four seconds into the game. The two teams played a back and forth quarter with neither team leading by more than a basket. Late in the first, back-to-back jumpers by Lauren Anten capped a 6-0 run that gave the Wolves a five-point lead. Keuka College closed the quarter with a four-point advantage, leading 20-16 after one.

Keuka College shot better from the floor in the second half than Penn St.-Abington, 38.5% to 21.1%, but the Nittany Lions increased their defensive pressure. The Wolves had seven turnovers in the quarter with Abington turning those into seven points. The Wolves did build a 10-point lead in the quarter, but the Nittany Lions scored 11 of the final 13 points in the quarter. Overall, Keuka College remained ahead, 31-30, at halftime.

Penn St.-Abington used a 7-0 run in the third to take the lead. The Nittany Lions led by seven points, 48-41, with 2:34 left in the quarter. Keuka College went on a run of their own, scoring eight straight to regain the lead. A late layup by Abington gave them a 50-49 advantage going to the final quarter.

The Wolves took the lead early in the fourth quarter and attempted to hold on. The teams traded baskets for most of the quarter with Keuka's lead never getting above three points, but also never trailing. With 2:22 left to play, senior Courtney Boyea hit a three from the right corner to give Keuka a six-point lead, 64-58. It was a part of a 9-0 run that secured the game for Keuka College as they defeated Penn St.-Abington 72-63.
