No. 7 Hope Women's Basketball Rolls Past Olivet

The Hope College women's basketball team made its last appearance at DeVos Fieldhouse for a while a successful one.

The nationally ranked Flying Dutch dominated on the boards and rolled to an 86-54 win against visiting Olivet on Wednesday.

Hope (14-1 overall) will play its next four games on the road and seven of its next eight away from DeVos Fieldhouse.

Beginning with Saturday's 3 p.m. game at Saint Mary's, The Flying Dutch head into the challenging stretch tied for first in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association with Trine. Both teams own 6-0 league records.

Against Olivet, Hope earned a 49-30 edge in total rebounds, including a 23-5 edge in offensive rebounds.

Senior forward Mandy Traversa of Winfield, Illinois (Wheaton North) led the effort on the glass with a season-high 12 rebounds. She recorded her second double-double this season with 17 points.

Sophomore center Francesca Buchanan of Grant, Michigan (Sparta HS) overcame early foul trouble to net a game-high 18 points.

Senior guard Angelique Gaddy of Caledonia, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian) chipped in 13 points, four assists, and three steals.

Off the bench, junior forward Jacquelyn Schwark of Fraser, Michigan (Lutheran North) netted 12 points.
