GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Behind five players in double figures, Gwynedd Mercy remained unbeaten in CSAC play with a big 77-57 win over Centenary Saturday afternoon at The Griffin Complex, handing the Cyclones their first conference defeat.

Nicole Dombrowski led the Griffins (6-7, 4-0 CSAC) with 17 points and 11 rebounds for her third career double-double. Bianca Adams added 15 points, six assists, and five boards. Larissa Leyes hit four of the team's nine three-pointers to finish with a career-high 14 points. Charlotte Kucowski (12 points) and Julianna Hoisington (10 points) rounded out the double-digit performers.

The team would lead 32-27 at the half and later 54-44 after the third. GMercyU would shoot 70% (7-for-10) in the final stanza while holding the Cyclones to a 20% (3-for-15) effort to pull away.

Rachel Edwards led Centenary (10-3, 4-1 CSAC) with 23 points off the bench. Mallory George chipped in 13 points, 11 caroms, and six assists, but the Cyclones had their four-game win streak come to an end.

In a very closely contested first quarter where neither team led by more than three points, Nicole Cartaino's three-point play gave Centenary a late 13-11 lead, but two free throws from Alison Szyszko and a tough bucket inside from Dombrowski helped GM to a 16-13 edge after the first.

Adams welcomed the second quarter with a three-pointer to start things off. Leyes would later strike again from downtown to give the Griffins its first double-digit lead (29-18) with 5:06 before the half. It became 32-20 after Adams hit her second three of the quarter with 2:09 to go, but the Cyclones answered with a spurt of their own scoring seven-straight points to end the half and pull within 32-27.

The Cyclones returned after half time and used back-to-back trifectas early on from Edwards and Julia Presant to pull in within 36-35. Dombrowski would score the next six points for Gwynedd, to keep Centenary at bay. Leyes added another three to bring the Griffin lead back to 10 (50-40) with 2:42 remaining.

The lead stayed in double figures the entire fourth, as Gwynedd outscored Centenary, 23-13. Chyanne Fine worked her way under the basket for two points of her own followed by another three-point swish from Leyes to help put things out of reach.

For the game, GM shot 47% (27-of-57) and 9-of-21 from downtown while outrebounding the Cyclones, 36-32. Gwynedd held Centenary to an 18-for-54 (33%) effort from the floor.

The Griffins return to play at home this Monday at 6 p.m. against the Cabrini Cavaliers.
