Baruch Suffers First CUNYAC Loss

The Baruch College Bearcats lost their first conference contest of the season on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

The two teams were tied at 52 with 4:16 remaining, but a 9-1 run by Lehman College gave them a 61-53 lead with 2:12 left. The Lightning held on for the 64-57 victory.


Veronica Ganzi led all scorers with 29 points, while Kristen Podlovits totaled 10 points, six rebounds and four steals.

Shannon Barrett grabbed 13 rebounds and Daniela Arias had 12.

Krystal Pearson did all the damage for the visitors with 18 points and 14 rebounds in the second half. She finished with 26 points and 15 rebounds.

The Bearcats will resume their CUNYAC schedule on Monday night, January 9, with a 6:00 p.m. road contest at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
