FSC Drops Non-Conference Game at Albertus Magnus

New Haven, Conn. - In a rematch of the meeting on November 20th, the Farmingdale State women's basketball team traveled to Albertus Magnus for a non-conference game on Monday night and fell, 75-59.

The Rams (4-3) led 19-16 with 4:39 left in the first half until a 6-0 Albertus Magnus (6-4) run over the next 1:17 put the Falcons ahead, 22-19. After layups by Essence Casey (Huntington Station, N.Y.) and Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) on the next two FSC possessions, Albertus Magnus closed the half with nine straight points to take a 31-23 advantage into the break.

Trailing 33-23 in the opening minute of the third, Farmingdale State answered with a 10-0 run to even the score at 33-33. With 4:08 left in the quarter and the Rams down by five, Albertus Magnus tallied eight unanswered points to take a 13-point lead, 48-35.

After a Chelsea May (Baldwin, N.Y.) layup with 4:43 remaining in the fourth pulled FSC within 10, sophomore forward AJ Smith (Freeport, N.Y.) followed with a 3 to cut the Rams' deficit to 63-56. The Falcons quickly answered with a 7-0 run to put the game out of reach en route to the 75-59 victory.

Harrison finished with a team-leading 16 points after shooting 7-for-12 from the field, while Smith and Casey each scored 11 points.

For Albertus Magnus, senior guard Liz Falcigno (Wallingford, Conn.) recorded a game-high 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting and had 18 rebounds, four assists and three steals, while junior forward Olivia Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.) pitched in with 21 points and 12 boards.

Farmingdale State will return to action on Wednesday, January 4th when they play host to Sage in a Skyline Conference game tipping off at 7:00 p.m.
