ALBION, Mich. – Oreyana Curry and Tierra Orban produced seven points apiece in the first quarter as Albion College built a 20-point lead and cruised to a 68-28 victory over Dominican (Ill.) University in a non-league women's basketball game inside Kresge Gymnasium.

It took Albion just 3 ½ minutes to build a double digit lead. Curry and Emily Bernas scored five points apiece as Albion lead 15-5.

Albion went on to hold a 30-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.

"The early start was great," Albion Head Coach Doreen Carden said. "We took pride on the defensive end. We are doing a good job of getting easy points off turnovers."

Carden said the Britons still need to work on consistency. Albion finished the night shooting 37 percent from the field, despite hitting 11 of 18 shots (61 percent) in the first quarter.

Orban achieved a career-high with 15 points, knocking down 6 of 9 shots. She also pulled down five rebounds.

Curry finished with 12 points, and all but three players scored.

"It was nice to get a lot of players in," Carden said. "The contributions we got from a lot of people was nice."

Albion, off to a 4-0 start for the first time since 2007, continues non-league play at home with a 7 o'clock game against John Carroll University next Wednesday (Nov. 30).
