Big Third Period Enough for Baruch Win at John Jay

The women's basketball team outscored the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 16-2, in the third period en route to a 64-38 CUNYAC win on Tuesday night in uptown New York City.

The two teams played a tightly contested first two periods, which included John Jay at one point leading by four points, but
Kristen Podlovitsand Veronica Ganzicombined to score 15 of the 16 points in the third period to break open the contest in their favor.

The Bearcats limited the Bloodhounds to 22 percent shooting (15-for-68), and just 4-of-18 from 3-point range.

Ganzi led all scorers with 23 points and Podlovits missed a double-double with 15 points and nine assists.


Jacqueline Kennedytotaled 13 points, while Shannon Barretthad 14 rebounds and Lauren Smith11 rebounds in the road win.
 
Terri Chu led the home team with nine points.

The Bearcats will hit the road again on Friday, February 5, for a 5 p.m. CUNYAC contest at Lehman College in the Bronx. Please note the revised start time for 5 p.m.
