CONWAY, Ark.—Led by junior Jasmynn Batts with 22 points, the Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team rebounded from a loss on Friday to defeat Hendrix on Sunday, 75-63, in Conway, Ark.

The Panthers moved to 16-2 overall and 6-2 in the Southern Athletic Association, while the Warriors fell to 15-4 and are also 6-2 in the SAA.

After an even start, Hendrix used an 8-0 lead late in the first period to pull ahead 19-10 at the 2:37 mark, which would be the Warriors' largest lead of the game. The Panthers responded with a 7-0 run to close out the period trailing 19-17.

BSC stayed just behind Hendrix to open the second period, and finally tied things up 23-23 at the 6:30 mark on a Batts layup. The Panthers pulled out to a 33-25 lead at the 2:24 mark, and led 37-34 at the half.

BSC maintained the lead through the third and fourth periods, although Hendrix cut the lead to one several times. Every time the Warriors would come close, the Panthers would respond to stay ahead, and steadily built up the lead over the last few minutes, and holding Hendrix scoreless over the last 1:52, to win by 12.

Batts' 22 points was a season-high, and senior Yorisha Bryant also added 19 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Senior Halle Knowles led with five assists, and Bryant also had two blocks.

The Panthers are on the road twice more next weekend, facing Centre in Danville, Ky., on Friday, and Sewanee in Sewanee, Tenn., on Sunday. BSC returns home on Friday, Feb. 12, hosting Berry at 6 p.m.
