Harden Scores 1,000th Career Point but William Paterson Women’s Basketball Falls at Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. – Senior guard Brittany Harden (Millville, N.J./Sacred Heart) scored her 1,000th career point but the William Paterson women's basketball team (11-8, 7-5 NJAC) suffered a 63-50 loss at Stockton (16-3, 10-2 NJAC) Jan. 30.

 

Harden became the 22nd member of WP's 1,000-point club with her free throw at the 2:19 mark of the fourth quarter. She finished with a team-best 13 tallies, junior guard Nikole Williams (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream Central) had 10 points and senior forward Alex Milne (Howell, N.J./Howell) posted a team-high seven rebounds.

Sophomore forward Tori Woetzel (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) added eight tallies and six caroms.

 

The Ospreys owned a 30-23 halftime lead and shot 53.7 (22-41) percent from the field during the contest while limiting the Pioneers to a 20-for-67 (.299) effort.

 

Sophomore guard Lea Mendolla led Stockton with 18 points, sophomore forward Najha Treadwell had 14 tallies and 13 rebounds, and sophomore forward Sasha Williams pulled down 17 boards.

 

William Paterson will host Rutgers-Camden Monday, Feb. 1, at 6:00 p.m.
