MADISON, N.J. - In their first game action in a week, the fifth-ranked University of Scranton women's basketball team didn't miss a beat in a convincing 73-42 victory on the road at Drew in Landmark Conference play on Wednesday evening.

With the victory, Scranton remained unbeaten on the year, moving to 18-0 overall and 9-0 in the Landmark Conference. Drew fell to 7-12 and 4-6 in the Landmark with the loss.

Scranton essentially put the host Rangers away in the first quarter, opening up an insurmountable 23-6 lead with 1:13 remaining in the quarter and never looking back on their way to a 26-11 opening period lead.

In the second period, Scranton extended the lead out further, allowing just six points in the stanza to take a 42-17 lead into intermission over the Rangers.

In the second half, the Lady Royals coasted, as for the second straight game, Scranton did not trail at any point in the contest (they have not trailed in a game since early in the first quarter against Catholic on January 16).

Overall, the Lady Royals were led in the win by junior forward Sarah Payonk (Schwenksville, Pa./Spring-Ford), who scored 12 points, snatched seven rebounds and had four assists in just 18 minutes of playing action.
