DePauw Extends Wins Streak to Three with 75-46 Win over Wooster

Greencastle, Ind. -  DePauw scored the game's first four points and led by as many as 18 in the opening quarter on the way to a 75-46 North Coast Athletic Conference victory over visiting Wooster. The Tigers improved to 13-5 overall and 7-2 in the NCAC, while the Fighting Scots dropped to 5-13 overall and 1-8 in the conference.

The Tigers came out on fire, hitting 11-of-14 from the field in the opening period, to take a 26-11 lead after holding as much as an 18-point advantage at 24-6.

Wooster was within 14 early in the second, but DePauw scored 10 straight late in the half to cap a 17-2 run and headed to the intermission with a 49-21 lead. The Fighting Scots hit 7-of-13 field goals in the third, but got no closer than 25 before DePauw took a 75-46 lead into the final stanza. 

Emily Budde led DePauw with 18 points and two steals, while Morgan Skordos with 11. Abby Kellergrabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the Tigers who held a 44-29 edge on the boards.

Aki Shurelds paced Wooster with nine points with Christina Vuckovich grabbing eight rebounds.

DePauw shot 47.6 percent from the floor, while Wooster connected on 32.1 percent. The Tigers committed just eight turnovers to Wooster's 12 and held a 19-3 advantage in points off of turnovers.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, January 27, when they travel to Denison to face the first-place Big Red.
