LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team dropped a 73-67 contest at home to Aurora University on Tuesday night.

With the contest even at 15-15 late in the first following a rebound basket from Alena Moro, Aurora stuck for five in a row to open a 20-15 edge and led 20-18 after one
The lead quickly reached seven points in the second quarter and stretched to nine before a three-pointer from Payton Sims to end the first half made the score 35-29
Benedictine quickly scored the first five points of the third quarter to continue an 8-0 run, battling within 35-34 on a layup from Hamilton
Aurora extended the lead to 52-45 with a buzzer-beater to end the third and moved ahead by double digits at 63-53 with just 3:33 left
A frantic push towards the end of the game pulled Benedictine within 70-67 on three from Sims with just 13 seconds to play before three free throws accounted for the final

STAT LEADERS
Four players finished in double figures for Benedictine led by a career best 18 from Venita Parsons
DeKayla Crayton and Sims each scored 14 off the bench as Benedictine received 30 points from reserves
The 14 points matched a career high for Sims
Hamilton also contributed 11 while Nicole Botich totaled six points, eight boards, and three blocks
Benedictine finished the game shooting 43.5 percent from the field and scored 34 points in the paint
Aurora held a 32-31 lead on the glass
