Behind senior forward K.C. Stralka's fourth career double-double, the Lake Forest College women's basketball team posted a 60-36 victory at Lawrence University on Wednesday.
Stralka shot 4-for-5 from the field and finished with a team-high 10 points, 10 rebounds, four blocked shots, and three assists. She was one of 10 players on the team to score in the contest. Senior guard Michelle Ricolcol and junior forwards Brie Majkowski and Brittany Avonts were next on the squad with right points apiece.
Lake Forest scored the game's first 12 points and kept Lawrence off the scoreboard for the first six minutes. The Foresters led 15-7 after the first quarter and 25-15 at halftime.
The margin grew to as many as 21 points in the third quarter and was 19 at 44-25 heading into the final period. Lake Forest scored the quarter's first five points and led by at least 20 the rest of the way.
The Foresters held the home team to 23 percent shooting from the field, out-rebounded the Vikings 47-34, and forced 10 turnovers whlie committing just 13.
It was the first Midwest Conference game of the season for the Foresters, who evened their overall record at 1-1. Lawrence fell to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the league.
Lake Forest will play its home opener against Milwaukee School of Engineering Saturday afternoon at 2:00.
