SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Senior Kim Ryan (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) dished out a career-high 10 assists and classmate Jessica Porter (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) poured in 18 points as Gettysburg College beat Swarthmore College 72-54 in Centennial Conference women's basketball action inside Tarble Pavilion Thursday night.
Gettysburg (7-2, 2-2 CC) won its fourth-straight outing thanks to a 10-0 run to end the first quarter. A lay-up by Hayley Raymond gave Swarthmore (3-8, 2-3 CC) a 15-12 advantage with 2:24 left in the period. Freshman Emma Dorshimer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) came right back with a three to tie the game and kick off the run which led to a 22-15 lead for the visitors at the end of the quarter.
The Bullets never looked back with a pair of free throws by sophomore Annie Reilly (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) putting the lead at double-figures (29-19) for the first time with three minutes left in the first half. Gettysburg owned a 37-27 lead at the break.
Despite trailing by as many as 19 in the third quarter, Swarthmore steadily chipped away at the lead until a lay-up and free throw by Raina Williams brought the deficit below double-figures at 55-46 with 6:50 remaining in the game. A three-pointer by Dorshimer squashed the comeback bid and the Bullets led by as many as 24 down the stretch.
Gettysburg finished 28-of-65 (43.1 percent) from the floor, while holding Swarthmore to just 21-of-62 (33.9 percent). The Bullets won the battle of the boards 41-37 and out-scored the Garnet in second-chance points (15-0) and in bench points (23-4).

Dorshimer finished 5-of-8 from the floor on the way to a dozen points, while Reilly logged 11 points and seven rebounds. Senior Emily Duggan (Marmora, N.J./Ocean City) added seven points and seven boards.
