Talarico’s Big Night Gives UMF Its Tenth Straight Win Over Thomas

FARMINGTON, Maine -- University of Maine at Farmington (4-5, 3-1) sophomore Jenessa Talarico(Lewiston, Maine/Lewiston) scored a career-high 13 points in Tuesday's 72-46 North Atlantic Conference win over Thomas College (2-8, 1-3) at Dearborn Gymnasium.

Talarico shot 5-of-7 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, and also grabbed three rebounds. Meghan Smith (Boothbay, Maine/Boothbay) matched Talarico with 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting and knocked down five free throws. Smith nearly came away with a double-double as she recorded eight rebounds and dished four assists. Kennadi Grover (Cushing, Maine/Oceanside) also scored in double figures with 11 points.

Thomas' Katie McCallister led all scorers with 18 points. McAllister shot 8-of-13 from the field and charted six rebounds, with four of them coming on the offensive glass. Jordan Agger-Barnes notched double figures as well for the Terriers with 10 points.

The Beavers controlled the game from the opening tip, as UMF never surrendered the lead. UMF generated 23 points off turnovers and created its own offense with 16-second chance points.

UMaine-Farmington continues its conference home stand on Friday against Johnson State.
