The Hope College women's basketball team put classroom exams in the past on Friday and resumed its winning ways on the court.
The nationally ranked Flying Dutch improved to 8-0 overall with a 91-43 win against Lawrence, Wisconsin in their Post Exam Jam opener at DeVos Fieldhouse.
Five players scored in double figures for Hope, ranked fourth in the WBCA Division III poll and sixth by D3Hoops.com.
Senior forward Maura McAfee netted a game-high 16 points and moved into 10th place on the Flying Dutch's all-time leaders with 1,071 career points.
McAfee, who passed Liz Ellis and her 1,064 points, scored the game's first six points to help the Flying Dutch race to a 29-2 lead 7 minutes, 41 seconds into the first quarter.
Freshman forward Francesca Buchanan of Grant, Michigan (Sparta HS) recorded her first career double-double. She matched her career-high with 12 points and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds.
Junior forward Elizabeth Perkins of Eaton Rapids, Michigan (Lansing Christian HS) and freshman guard Victoria Swift of LaGrange, Illinois (Lyons Township HS) chipped in 11 points apiece.
Junior guard Angelique Gaddy of Caledonia, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS) had 10 points against Lawrence (0-7).
Hope returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. against Lake Forest, Illinois (3-4).
Lake Forest lost to Alma 71-65 in Friday's first game. Tara Goystein's 14 points topped Lake Forest.
